ACCUTANE PROTOCOL VIA iPLEDGE
Isotretinon (accutane) treats severe acne. It is used after other treatments, including antibiotics have not helped. Accutane is strictly regulated by the federal government via the iPLEDGE program. The goal is to prevent pregnancies in females taking accutane. The iPLEDGE program requires birth control for female patients who can get pregnant for at least 1 month before, during, and 1 month after stopping treatment. This pdf document outlines the necessary steps to initiate and follow through with the accutane protocol.
