Imperfections from the sun and environmental damage, enlarged pores, dull complexions, wrinkles and other facial marks only detract from appearance, but may also affect one's sense of well being.

Dermatology Associates of Plymouth Meeting provides a full medical skin care center, complete with a wide range of scientifically backed cosmetic services. We offer some of the latest techniques in skin care rejuvenation under physician supervision at all times.

Signature Facial—A custom-blended facial formulated to meet your individual skin care needs.

Vitamin C Peel—Refines and tones the skin using natural antioxidants.

Glycolic Acid Peel — An exfoliation treatment applied to the top layers of the skin designed to promote cellular growth and regenerative changes. The peels we currently offer affect only the top layers of the skin, marking them most suitable for treating sun-damaged skin. Three to six treatments are recommended.

Microdermabrasion —Microdermabrasion is effective in reducing fine lines, age spots and mild acne scars yielding a refreshed, healthier glow to the skin. It stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen. Each treatment takes from 30 minutes to an hour. The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart. There is no downtime following the treatments. A personalized medical skin care regimen is recommended to maximize your results.

Chemical Peel — Fine wrinkles and sun-damaged skin can be improved with a light chemical skin peel. A candidate for a light chemical peel will typically have fine facial wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. Chemical peels vary according to their specific ingredients and their strength. Depth of peeling action may also depend on factors such as how long solutions remain on the skin and whether they are lightly applied, or more heavily or vigorously applied.

Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation — The Fotofacial is a no-downtime, outpatient procedure that fades sun damage, acne scarring, brown skin discolorations and rosacea. Fotofacials also lessen pores and fine wrinkles. Studies show fine wrinkles and discolorations improve by 50-75% after 4-6 treatments. There is no downtime associated with this treatment. Patients can reapply makeup after treatments and return to work and activities.

Acne Scar Surgery — Pitted scarring of the face is best treated with punch-graft transplants. This process takes normal skin from behind the ear, which is then used to replace removed scar tissue.

Botox® Injection — This is a natural, purified protein, which, in very low doses, relaxes the overactive muscles that cause frown lines to form. Treatment is simple, non-surgical and smoothes the deep, persistent lines that develop over time.

Filler Substances (Collagen and Restylane®) — These materials are natural substances that exist in the skin and are used to restore volume and fullness to the skin, correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds in the forehead and cheek areas. Fillers can also correct areas near the eyes (crow's feet). Restylane® delivers a longer lasting effect than that of traditional collagen with virtually no risk of allergic reaction.daopm

Sclerotherapy — Noticeable surface clusters of small blood vessels, commonly referred to as "spider veins," in the lower extremities are a common cosmetic problem. These thin, non-essential veins are treated by injecting "sclerosing agents" that dehydrate the vessels causing them to collapse and disappear.

Laser Hair Removal — Unwanted hair growth is a burden. Currently, there are many "laser hair centers" that claim "hair removal". However, there is no way to permanently remove hair with any current laser system. Hair growth can be reduced significantly, lasting anywhere from 18-24 months with appropriate maintenance care. We offer the only FDA approved, scientifically proven laser hair REDUCTION system. Ask for a consultation.

Laser Services — Acne scars, sun damage, wrinkles, and skin pigmentation can be a concern. We offer a full range of laser services to help improve these problems. Schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss how your skin can be improved with an individually designed program.

Laser Spider Vein Therapy — Lasers can be an alternative to sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider veins (telangiectasias), small superficial purple- red blood vessels most commonly found in clusters on the thighs and legs. A typical treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of areas treated. A single treatment session successfully removes approximately 30-40% of the spider veins treated. In general, one or two additional sessions may be required for optimal results.

Refirme Skin Tightening and Wrinkle Treatment — Refirme treatments involve the use of infrared and Radiofrequency to improve fine wrinkles and skin laxity. The treatment stimulates the production of your own collagen and after approximately 5-6 treatments, the fine wrinkles appear smoother. Following treatment, some may find the skin to be light pink (flushed). This fades within a few hours. Patients can reapply makeup and return to their activities immediately after treatment.
